I think you're wrong. There are many, many Wards out there, perhaps not quite as extreme or easily exposed. Acadame has been the refuge of leftist incompetants for a half century.

You could make this a crusade. Start with the list of petty vindictive "academics" that voted no confidence on Larry Summers. Start with this guy-- J. Lorand Matory, a professor of anthropology and African and African-American studies at Harvard. Sounds like a winner.

Ward is so lost in the labyrinth of his self-importance, he may not even recognize the sarcasm in your essay! When you say things like, "We want Churchill unrepentant; we want him defiant; we want him drawn self-righteously up to his full height and full of bile and bombast. Churchill is, after all, the last gunslinger of the intellectual Left," I could easily see him saying, "Yeah! That's right! Good advice, jw!"



There's an old saying in Jamaica: The higher the monkey climb, the farther he fall. It's gonna be a long way down for Chutch; I want to hear the sounds of his pseudo-intellectual bones snapping as he hits the ground.

The main point of the FAS faculty meeting in the Loeb Drama Center was a largely symbolic no-confidence vote proposed by Mr. Latory, a voodoo expert and an apologist for the corrupt and brutal Nigerian dictator Ibrahim Babangida.

Interesting that neither Mr. Latory nor Mr. Churchill have doctorates.
