Our apologies to the many readers who emailed us about the apparent expiration of the domain pirateballerina.com. As Twain said, news of our demise was greatly exaggerated.
We didn't get the renewal notice from Network Solutions, we were able to get to PB yesterday (a glitch having to do with our home service provider's cache, no doubt), and a whois of pirateballerina.com Saturday revealed that the site wasn't due to expire until October 2006.
Today we also got the "renewal" page of Network Solutions when we tried to get to PB, so we called them and learned that the registration had in fact expired (the whois infop, we were told, was incorrect).
Obviously, you're reading this, so we must have renewed the registration.
Thanks again to all the readers who let us know there was a problem.
Update: The pirateballerina website seems to alternately show up today in a normal fashion, and as Network Solutions' "under construction" page. We've alerted Network Solutions to this problem, but since their email system doesn't appear to be working (either), we have no idea whether they're doing anything to fix the problem.
